![]() We met Derek mid through the week and he was amazing and again ever so helpful on places we should visit. Breakfast is difficult to explain as I have never experienced such an amazing spread and Sue,s full English is incredible I would have one in the morning and be full up till the evening (great value for money). The rest of the time we spent in the stunning lounge, playing board games (which are supplied) and enjoying afternoon teas (Sue told us to treat the kitchen as our own). We went out to a few attractions and food recommendations that Sue advised and each one was amazing. You also have stunning dressing robes for those days that you are feeling lazy. The room has everything you can physically think of even complementary Sherry, Dental Floss, Shower Gel, moisturiser and so so so much more. She then went on to show us our incredible master en-suite room which has a beautiful conservatory attached which overlooked fields and throughout our stay were filled with cows. On arrival I fell in love, the church is stunning and has so many wow factors, also Sue was ever so inviting from the moment we arrived, she made us coffee and fed us cake whilst explaining all the local attractions that we should see whilst we were here (her knowledge is incredible). I have thought about how to write this review for a few days now as words cannot describe how I feel about this last week that we have spent here at this beautiful church. Full up until tea time!!! Brilliant knowledge of the local area and less touristy places to go and visit - found a few gems thanks :) Will definitely be back - one night just wasn't long enough.… Sue's breakfast was to die for - cereals, fresh fruit, yogurts, pastries, juice, tea and a massive full English breakfast. All using the old church pews which is a great touch. Out of the room there is a lovely lounge area to sit around in with comfy sofas, games and a TV if you really need it. ![]() We stayed in the gothic splendour of the West Suite - our own conservatory (great to sit in on a darkish eve with a glass of wine enjoying that there is hardly any light pollution around) The room amenities are second to none, everything from dental floss to shower gels, body lotions to luxury robes and sherry :) The hidden bath in the room was quirky, loved the conservatory and comfy bed. ![]() I have stayed all over the world in 5 star hotels but you cannot beat this place for character and comfort.…Ībsolutely loved this place and wished I had stayed longer! I don't think I can do the place justice writing about this - I always like to stay in quirky places rather than sterile Travelodge and this b&b didn't disappoint. Book directly with Sue and Derek as sometimes they do have availability even if showing full on some sites. The other rooms are also done exquisitely but they share a very large bathroom. The B and B has several rooms but the west wing has its own private facilities. I hope to return at some stage and stay a little longer as 2 nights was not enough, I did not want to leave. I did not get to meet Derek Sue's husband but I am sure with hosts like them you would not want to stay anywhere else. Sue has great knowledge of the surrounding area and can give great tips for places to visit or eat. The character of the church is incredible and guests can use a large living room with TV, films and books. The breakfasts are ifantastic and will last you the whole day and such a choice, fresh fruit, cereal, yoghurt and toast and of course a massive English cooked breakfast or scrambled egg with smoked salmon. I had an incredible comfy bed and slept soundly. The room is stunning with a four poster with luxurious bed linen and throws, cushions and signature teddy bear. Everything has been thought of in such detail. This is apart from all the extra touches of a basket of towels and all the toiletries you will ever need. Both were of great use when you want to sit in your own conservatory off the room to watch magnificent sun sets or just beautiful country views. The room had a tea and coffee tray with biscuits and a carafe of sherry. I was greeted by Sue so helpful she showed me to my room, the west wing and what can I say but Wow! Even five star hotels are not as thoughtful as this B and B. ![]() What can I say but you will not be disappointed I had a 5 star stay and would have loved to stay longer. Having read the reviews I was looking forward to my stay. I booked a 2 day stay as I had to visit some artists in the area.
